This Week Sucks!

I have been procrastinating all week. Nevermind the fact that I have looming deadlines. (like tomorrow) Nevermind that I'm tired and will be up all night, I haven't gotten anything done this week! It's Thursday!!! Ugh! Where did the time go. Today instead of working I designed a new Myspace page that is totally for business purposes. (Please add me, I hardly have any friends lol) I also spent some time on Twitter and learned how to use my webcam. Basically, I've been doing anything except writing. Hopefully, your week is going better!

One more vent for the day. On Thursdays and Fridays I watch a friend's son. She works a full time job and then on Thursday and Fridays she has a second shift job. These people are like family to me and I adore having him here. Tonight she comes to pick him up and tries to pay me. (She usually does and we argue about it) Well then she says, "Take it I had a good night at work and you aren't working." Poor pitiful me, right? Why is it that to everyone else freelance writing isn't work? People seem to think I have all the time in the world to do whatever I want. The funny thing is, I'm not the one working two jobs and I still make more money than she does! People never cease to amaze me!

Do people you know think that you actually work or does everyone have this problem?

PS - I know this isn't a very helpful post, but like I said looming deadlines! (I must write!) Stay tuned though, tomorrow we have our weekly goals update and I have 2 helpful posts planned called "Should You Ever Work On Spec?" and "Blogging; Can You Really Make a Lucrative Income with a Blog and if so How?" Have a great night!

About This Blog

I started this blog in February, 2009 to share my experience changing careers. I'm a single mom and for 8 years had worked outside of the home as a customer service agent. It was a lot of stress juggling a full time job outside of the house and running a household by myself, so in August, 2008 I began blogging. I began blogging in the hopes that I could earn enough income to eventually quit my "real" job. While I didn't make enough money to quit, it did allow me to save enough money so that I could quit and concentrate full time in freelance writing. It was the best decision I have ever made and even though it has taken a lot of getting used to, I love it.

While you will still hear my trials and tribulations, my hopes for Am I Really a Writer? have changed. My goal now, is to continue this blog with helpful information and tips for aspiring freelance writers as well seasoned writers. If you have any suggestions or anything you would like to see on this site feel free to email me at emily [at] reallyawriter [dot] com. I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I enjoy writing it!
